Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Acorn, the missed-call text-back service from Oak Labs LLC ("Oak Labs", "we"). By signing up, you ("the shop") agree to them. Texting rules for people who contact your shop are in our SMS Terms, and what we collect is in our Privacy Policy.
Price
Acorn costs $99 a month, or $990 a year. One flat price, no setup fee, no contract.
Signup, free period, and billing
You add a card when you sign up. We do not charge it until the carriers approve your texting. Once texting is live, your first 30 days are free. After that we bill your card each month or each year, depending on your plan, until you cancel.
Canceling
You can cancel anytime. Service runs until the end of the period you already paid for.
Monthly plans: we do not refund partial months.
Yearly plans: if you cancel within 30 days of your first yearly charge, we refund it in full. After that, we do not give refunds.
After you cancel, we keep your Acorn number until the end of the following month, then release it. If you want to keep it, tell us before then.
Your responsibilities
You agree to use Acorn lawfully, including texting and calling laws. You are responsible for how you and your staff use it, for what you send to your customers, and for having any consent the law requires to contact them. Do not use Acorn for spam or marketing blasts.
The service
We work to keep Acorn running well, but it is provided "as is" and "as available." Calls and texts depend on carriers and other providers, and messages can be delayed or not delivered. We do not promise any particular result for your business.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Oak Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost jobs, lost profits, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email you before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania.
